The Story
follows Nick, a sharp but sleep-deprived 29-year-old, who suffers from severe narcolepsy. His disease has robbed him of rest, clarity, and control over his life for the last decade.
Sky-high doses of stimulants and an extremely potent nighttime sedative aren’t enough for Nick to function - and he’s out of treatment options.
After nearly causing a fatal accident, Nick embarks on an obsessive, dangerous “sleep experiment” to recover from his past ten years of disordered sleep.
What starts as
a desperate bid to cure himself spirals into reckless self-sedation, burnt bridges, and showdowns with his family, who no longer trusts him.
Nick’s desperate attempt
at normal health turns into a walk through hell with no clear path back.
While the film is a visceral exploration of narcolepsy, a very specific condition, it also portrays how anyone’s desperation can inspire dedication and determination… then mutate into isolation, addiction or depression.
